'Life in the slowlane' is a double layered stained glass artwork with added metal work of a broken fence. Hilary commented 'A farmer's job is never done. The glass colours chosen to suggest the end of a working day and perhaps a job for tomorrow...'

The artwork is from Hilary's latest petite collection of landscapes 'Around the corner' highlighting Aotearoa's beautiful scenery through the Seasons. New Zealand as a driving destination is known for its beautiful bush and beaches and paradise is literally just around the corner.

Artist Bio

Hilary grew up in South Auckland, surrounded by the Manukau Harbour with its glorious sunsets and dramatic moodiness. Originally trained as a primary teacher, she has spent the last 25 years in Sheffield UK, on the edge of the stunning Peak District.

Her greatest inspirations are the changing seasons played out in the coastlines, landscapes and gardens of Derbyshire, Yorkshire, Cornwall, and now the Waikato. Having dabbled in different mediums, glass has become the consummate expression to reflect the beauty of her surroundings.
