Deciduus & Santie is a small boutique store in the heart of Taupo, owned and operated by Artist Santie Cronje and Horticulturist Shane Berger. A unique concept store that is not your standard white wall gallery nor a straight-up plant store, but rather a fine blend of Art and Nature with a relaxed 'in situ' feel that will leave you inspired.

Both Santie & Shane have a wealth of knowledge in their respective fields and are more than happy to help and advise on any Art or Plant related enquiries.

A little more about Santie

Santie has been involved in the New Zealand Art scene from 2008, having been represented by Galleries throughout the country and successfully selling her work in New Zealand and abroad.

Originally from South Africa, Santie travelled to Europe after her Art studies and some years later, a three month sailing journey from Cape Town to Gibraltar, and a Kiwi saw her moving to New Zealand in 1999. When she's not in the store Santie is painting or arranging dried bouquets from her art studio in Tirau.

'Art has been a big part of my life since I can remember. I could not imagine a life without it and I love working with our team of creatives and sharing their beautiful and unique work with our lovely customers'.

A little more about Shane

Shane Berger is a born and bred Kiwi, brought up rurally in the beautiful South Waikato. Like many Kiwi's, he went traveling after University, and returned to New Zealand a few years later having worked in nurseries and Horticulture industries in England, Canada and Australia.

Shane has a love for the earth and his knowledge of the plant world is a real asset to our indoor plant space. Customers are always commenting on how amazing our plants look and that they're clearly well looked after.

Shane has helped many customers with plant care tips and placement of plants in homes and offices. If you're looking to fit your office with indoor plants or start your indoor collection at home he is available for consultation in the Waikato region.
